Asante Samuel Jr. LAC CB
Asante Samuel: Underwent neck surgery
4h agoSamuel (neck/shoulder) underwent neck surgery in April, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Samuel will have a check-up appointment in July. The 25-year-old free agent cornerback visited with the Saints on Monday, but he will reconvene with interested teams once deemed fully healthy. Samuel appeared in just four regular-season games last season due to shoulder and neck issues. He's aiming to return to the field in 2025.

Caden Prieskorn DET TE
Caden Prieskorn: Let go by Detroit
4h agoPrieskorn was waived by the Lions on Monday.
The tight end initially signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent after the draft, but he was cut to make room for Luke Deal after the team's rookie minicamp over the weekend, per Jeff Risdon of USA Today. Prieskorn caught 57 passes for 850 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games at Ole Miss, but he projects more as a run blocker in the pros due to his physicality and lack of speed.

Malik Taylor NYJ WR
Lions' Malik Taylor: Pops up in Detroit
4h agoTaylor signed with the Lions on Monday.
The wide receiver was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue by the Jets in August of last year and didn't appear in any 2024 regular-season games. His best season came in 2020 with the Packers, when he caught five passes for 66 yards and a score. Taylor faces an uphill climb for a roster spot behind established pros Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond and 2025 draft picks Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett.

Thomas Yassmin DEN TE
Thomas Yassmin: Waived by Denver
5h agoYassmin was waived by the Broncos on Monday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
The tight end from Sydney, Australia signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent May 11 of last year, hung on with the team through 2024 as a member of its practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract in January. Now, he'll have to look elsewhere for his next opportunity. In 2023, his final collegiate season at Utah, Yassmin caught eight passes for 89 yards and a touchdown across five games.

Jordan Mims NO RB
Jordan Mims: Waived by New Orleans
6h agoMims was waived by the Saints on Monday.
The running back suited up for 11 games for the Saints in 2024, recording 20 carries for 70 yards and 12 catches for 71 yards. With Alvin Kamara still leading the Saints' backfield and 2023 third-round pick Kendre Miller, 2025 sixth-round pick Devin Neal and veteran Clyde Edwards-Helaire filling in the spots behind him for the moment, there wasn't much room for Mims reprise his occasional third-string role from last season.
-
Phillip Dorsett ATL WR
Phillip Dorsett: Out in Atlanta
8h agoDorsett was released by the Falcons on Monday.
Dorsett inked a reserve/future deal with the Falcons in early January, but it now appears the team has decided to part ways with the veteran wideout. The 2015 first-round pick last appeared in an NFL regular-season game with the Broncos in 2023, failing to catch any of his three targets across 34 offensive snaps. Now a free agent, Dorsett will likely look to find work with a team in need of wide receiver depth.

Corbin Carroll ARI RF
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Swats pair of homers in win
3m agoCarroll went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Monday's 2-1 win over the Giants.
Carroll's solo shots off Justin Verlander in the third and fifth innings ended up being all the Diamondbacks needed to get the win. With the two-homer game, Carroll is up to second in the National League with 13 long balls. He's clubbed four of those homers over his last eight games while going 8-for-28 (.286) in that span. That's just about in line with his .282 average for the season, which comes with a .965 OPS, 30 RBI, 33 runs scored and five stolen bases over 42 contests.
-
Steven Okert HOU RP
Astros' Steven Okert: Excellent start to season continues
5m agoOkert allowed one hit with no walks and no strikeouts across two scoreless innings Monday against the Royals.
Monday's outing was Okert's 17th of the season and his 15th scoreless appearance. He's backed that up with an excellent 24:3 K:BB across 22 innings. Despite his success, Okert hasn't typically been used in high-leverage spots and has only two holds on the campaign.
-
Shelby Miller ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Secures second save
6m agoMiller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Monday's 2-1 win over the Giants.
Closing opportunities are up for grabs in Arizona's bullpen, and Miller may be best positioned to take advantage in the short term. While he blew a save May 4 versus the Phillies, he's kept runs off the board in his other four outings in May. He's also been scored upon in just two of 17 appearances so far. Miller's at a 1.02 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB across 17.2 innings while adding two saves and six holds. His overall success will keep him in the late-inning mix, and he'll have some chances for saves while Justin Martinez (shoulder) works his way back.
-
Merrill Kelly ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Strikes out eight in win
9m agoKelly (4-2) allowed a run on eight hits and struck out eight without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win over the Giants on Monday.
Kelly was just a little better than opposing starter Justin Verlander in this pitching duel. The 36-year-old Kelly has now allowed exactly one run in five of his nine outings this season, and this start ended a stretch of four appearances without a win. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 3.71 with a 1.06 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across 51 innings this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies this weekend.

Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Goes down with leg injury
45m agoCabrera left Monday's game against the Mariners due to a left leg injury, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Cabrera was injured on a play at the plate in the top of the ninth inning as he attempted an awkward slide. He was eventually taken off the field in an ambulance after being attended to by the team's training staff. The Yankees should have more information on Cabrera's injury after further evaluation.

Ethan Salas SD C
Padres' Ethan Salas: Dealing with stress reaction
1h agoSalas has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his lower back and is expected to remain out until July, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Salas was placed on the 7-day injured list at the beginning of May due to back spasms, but it's since been reported that he's experiencing a stress reaction. Cassavell notes that the team is hopeful the backstop will return to the diamond at some point in July by resting the injury.

He also contributed on the offensive end by scoring in double figures for a fourth straight matchup. McDaniels continues to find a way to make an impact for the Timberwolves, now averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.8 blocks so far this series.

Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Flirts with 40-point night
2h agoBrunson amassed 39 points (14-25 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-9 FT), five rebounds and 12 assists across 40 minutes during Monday's 121-113 victory over Boston in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Brunson provided plenty of offensive firepower for his squad in Monday's Game 4, leading the team in both points and assists to help New York take a commanding 3-1 series lead. This marks Brunson's best scoring performance of the second round, though he fell just one point shy of his 40-point outburst in Game 6 of the opening round against Detroit. The Knicks will undoubtedly lean heavily on Brunson again Wednesday in Boston with the hope of finishing off the Celtics.

Jayson Tatum BOS PF
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: To undergo MRI on Tuesday
3h agoTatum didn't return to Monday's 121-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals due to an apparent right lower-leg injury and is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.
Tatum suffered a non-contact injury while going for the ball and was helped off the court with 2:58 remaining in the fourth quarter. The superstar was unable to put any weight on his right leg and required a wheelchair to get down the tunnel. He finished the game with 42 points (16-28 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks across 40 minutes. The Celtics are expected to provide an update on Tatum's status for Wednesday's win-or-go-home Game 5 by Tuesday night.

If he doesn't, he'll finish the game with 42 points (16-28 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks across 40 minutes.

OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Back in action
5h agoAnunoby (hamstring) checked back in to Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Anunoby went to the locker room after appearing to be bothered by a hamstring issue during the first quarter, but he was later spotted back on the bench wearing a wrap on his leg and was ultimately cleared to check back in with 4:58 remaining in the first half. His health will be worth monitoring the rest of the way Monday.

OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Exits to locker room Monday
5h agoAnunoby exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent hamstring injury during the first quarter of Monday's Game 4 against the Celtics, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Anunoby appeared to hurt his hamstring in the first quarter but stayed in the game. However, he didn't return to the bench at the start of the second. If the 27-year-old forward is unable to return, Mitchell Robinson and Precious Achiuwa are candidates for a bump in minutes.
-
Brandon Saad LV LW
Golden Knights' Brandon Saad: Not playing Monday
4h agoSaad (lower body) is not available for Game 4 in Edmonton on Monday, according to Jesse Granger of The Athletic.
Saad will miss a second straight game while he works his way back from a lower-body injury. His next chance to return to the lineup will be at home in Game 5 on Wednesday.
-
Mark Stone LV RW
Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Available for Game 4 in Edmonton
4h agoStone (upper body) will play in Game 4 against the Oilers on Monday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Stone was nicked up in Saturday's 4-3 win in Game 3, but he won't miss any time after being deemed a game-time decision Monday. The right-shot winger will fill his usual first-line role in addition to linking up with No. 1 power-play unit. Stone has generated two goals and two helpers in this second-round series versus Edmonton.
-
Logan Thompson WAS G
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Patrolling blue paint in Game 4
7h agoThompson will be between the road pipes against the Hurricanes in Game 4 on Monday, per Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.
Thompson has posted a solid .921 save percentage and a 2.30 GAA through three games in this series, but the Capitals have had trouble finding offense against a defensively sound Hurricanes squad. It's a road game for Washington, so it certainly won't help Thompson's case that Carolina will have the benefit of the last change. Thompson is 5-3 and has allowed 18 goals on 232 shots (.922 save percentage) over eight postseason appearances.
-
Brett Berard NYR LW
Rangers' Brett Berard: Dropped from Team USA
9h agoBerard has withdrawn from the 2025 IIHF World Championship due to an undisclosed injury, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports Monday.
Berard's undisclosed injury is not expected to impact his availability for the start of training camp in the fall. Still, it will be something fantasy managers want to monitor in the offseason. During the regular season, the 22-year-old winger registered six goals and four helpers in 35 outings. If he can be a full-time NHL player next year, Berard could push for the 30-point threshold.
-
Mark Stone LV RW
Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Game-time decision
11h agoStone (upper body) will be a game-time call for Game 4 versus Edmonton on Monday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Stone logged only 5:54 of playing time in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Oilers in Game 3. However, he was on the top line and first power-play unit in Monday's morning skate, indicating he could be in the lineup for Game 4. Stone has accounted for four goals, eight points, 20 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and nine hits across nine appearances this postseason. If Stone and Brandon Saad (lower body) are unavailable for Monday's matchup, Cole Schwindt or Alexander Holtz could be in the lineup versus Edmonton.

Mattias Ekholm EDM D
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Resumes skating
11h agoEkholm (undisclosed) has resumed skating but isn't close to being ready to return to the lineup, according to Tom Gazzola of Edmonton Sports Talk on Monday.
Ekholm spent most of March and April on the shelf due to a lingering injury before being ruled out indefinitely near the end of the regular season. He is still weeks away from playing, and a potential return to the lineup in the postseason remains unclear. Ekholm had nine goals, 33 points, 143 shots on net, 95 blocked shots and 42 hits across 65 regular-season appearances in 2024-25.
