Troy Hairston II CLE RB
Browns' Troy Hairston: Could have role in 2025
14m agoHairston is in line for a role in the 2025 roster with the expectation that the Browns will utilize the fullback position this season, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Hairston, who signed a futures contract with the Browns in January, has game experience at fullback when he was with the Texans. Whether the Browns actually carry a fullback and plan to use the position will evolve over the summer. Hairston's fate is tied to the number of tight ends and true running backs who end up sticking around.

Patrick Murtagh JAC TE
Patrick Murtagh: Waived by Jacksonville
13h agoMurtagh was waived by the Jaguars on Thursday.
The tight end appears to be healthy again since he was let go with no injury designation. Murtagh signed with the Jags in April 2024 through the NFL's International Player Pathway Program and then broke his ankle during a training camp goal-line drill. The former track athlete and Australian rules football player will now have to look elsewhere for his next NFL opportunity.

Christian Barmore NE DT
Patriots' Christian Barmore: Good to go
13h agoBarmore (illness) said Thursday that he's past his blood clot issue, cleared for offseason workouts and expecting to play Week 1, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
The defensive tackle was diagnosed with blood clots ahead of the 2024 campaign and then missed the first 10 games. After returning for four contests, his symptoms came back, forcing him onto the reserve/non-football illness list for the final three weeks of the season. The Alabama product and 2021 second-round pick recorded 64 tackles (39 solo), including 8.5 sacks, and six pass breakups in 2023, his last healthy season.
-
Eric Johnson IND DT
Eric Johnson: Let go by Patriots
2d agoThe Patriots released Johnson on Wednesday.
Johnson joined the Patriots prior to the start of last season and ended up recording 17 tackles (two solo) across 11 games played. The 26-year-old can contribute on both defense and special teams and will now look for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Elgton Jenkins GB C
Packers' Elgton Jenkins: Not attending workouts
2d agoJenkins is skipping Green Bay's offseason workouts, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.
While Jenkins has recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered during the team's wild-card loss to the Eagles in January, the 26-year-old is holding out due to a contract dispute. Jenkins could be moved from guard to center for the upcoming season, and while he has two years left on his current deal, he's looking for some additional security in exchange.

Jadon Janke GB WR
Packers' Jadon Janke: Signs with Packers
2d agoThe Packers signed Janke on Wednesday.
Janke spent time with both the Texans and Dolphins during the 2024 offseason but has yet to appear in an NFL game. He will face an uphill battle to make Green Bay's final roster and could be a candidate to land on the practice squad.
-
Marcus Semien TEX 2B
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Up-and-down season continues
1h agoSemien went 0-for-3 in Thursday's 1-0 win over Houston.
Semien appeared to be coming out of a season-opening funk when he was dropped mid-April from leadoff to fifth in the order, but any initial success was fleeting. He posted a .271 average and .702 OPS over 14 games immediately after the change but recently is 4-for-33 (.121) with a .407 OPS across the last nine contests.
-
Max Schuemann ATH 3B
Athletics' Max Schuemann: Homers in massive loss
6h agoSchuemann went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 19-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Schuemann started at second base, entering the starting nine for the first time since April 29. He has yet to bat higher than ninth in the order while serving as a utility player throughout the early stages of the campaign. The 27-year-old has done fine when called upon, batting .250 with a .752 OPS, one homer, one RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases and two triples over 39 plate appearances. However, it'll likely take injuries to other players for Schuemann to carve out a larger role.
-
Osvaldo Bido ATH SP
Athletics' Osvaldo Bido: Hit hard early
7h agoBido (2-4) allowed six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 1.2 innings to take loss versus the Dodgers on Thursday.
Bido gave up three runs in each of the first two innings and still got out of the game before the bulk of the Dodgers' offensive onslaught. Jason Alexander was tagged for nine runs over 2.1 innings of relief after Bido's exit. Bido has had a few duds this season, but this was the first time he's failed to complete five innings. He's allowed four or more runs in four of his last five starts and now has a 5.82 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 29:18 K:BB across 43.1 innings over nine starts. The right-hander is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Angels.

Dalton Rushing LAD C
Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Gets on base three times in debut
7h agoRushing went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Rushing got a fun first taste of major-league action in this lopsided win in his debut. He didn't look out of place, striking out just once and scoring each time he got on base. The 24-year-old was slashing .308/.424/.514 over 31 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his call-up Wednesday. He slots in as the backup to Will Smith at catcher, but Rushing can also push the struggling Michael Conforto for playing time in left field since Smith is likely to catch 4-to-5 games per week.
-
Hye Seong Kim LAD 2B
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: On base five times in win
7h agoKim went 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBI, one stolen base and four runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
From the No. 9 hole, Kim was able to have another strong performance, earning his first three-hit game in the majors. He also drew his first two walks in the contest. Kim is now batting .429 with a home run, five RBI, nine runs scored and three steals across 30 plate appearances to begin his big-league career. He's seeing time at second base and in center field against right-handed pitchers, providing a challenge to the playing time of Enrique Hernandez and James Outman.
-
James Outman LAD CF
Dodgers' James Outman: Pops homer in blowout win
7h agoOutman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Outman stretched the Dodgers' lead to 16-2 in the sixth inning. This was his first multi-hit effort of the season, and two of his three hits so far have been homers. He's added four RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases across 24 plate appearances. Outman has recently been sharing center field with Hyeseong Kim against right-handed pitchers, while Chris Taylor frequently plays there versus southpaws.

Nikola Jokic DEN C
Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Nudges triple-double in victory
4h agoJokic posted 29 points (9-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 14 rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals across 41 minutes during Thursday's 119-107 win over the Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Jokic fell just short of yet another triple-double, helping guide the Nuggets to victory. The three-time MVP continues to bring it on both ends of the floor, delivering video game numbers on a nightly basis. Across the first six games against the Thunder, Jokic is averaging 29.8 points, 14.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers in 41.0 minutes per game.

Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Plays through illness Thursday
4h agoMurray ended Thursday's 119-107 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 25 points (9-19 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one block in 42 minutes.
Despite some conjecture over whether he would play or not, Murray took his spot in the starting lineup and certainly played a key role in the Game 6 victory. A four-point play to start the night set the tone for Murray, ending with him scoring at least 25 points for the third time in the past four games. The two teams will meet again Sunday, providing Murray with some time to recover before what promises to be a classic Game 7.
-
Julian Strawther DEN SF
Nuggets' Julian Strawther: Second-half heroics fuel victory
4h agoStrawther finished with 15 points (4-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and two rebounds over 20 minutes during Thursday's 119-107 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Strawther had easily his best game of the postseason, scoring all 15 of his points during the second half, fueling what was an impressive victory for the Nuggets. With Jamal Murray dealing with an illness, Strawther took it upon himself to springboard the win, an encouraging sign given how little we have seen of him during the playoffs. Denver will now head to Oklahoma City for Game 7, with both teams feeling as though they have something to prove.
-
Chet Holmgren OKC C
Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Double-doubles in Game 6 loss
5h agoHolmgren amassed 19 points (8-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Thursday's 119-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Holmgren led the Thunder with 11 rebounds, recording his fourth double-double of the series. Having tallied just three total blocks over the past three games, Holmgren's impact on the defensive end has been somewhat muted by the Nuggets. However, he remains one of the best shot-blockers in the league and will undoubtedly look to have more of an impact when the two teams face off one final time Sunday.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Game-high 32 points not enough
5h agoGilgeous-Alexander closed with 32 points (11-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-11 FT), three rebounds and six assists across 35 minutes during Thursday's 119-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Gilgeous-Alexander tallied a game-high 32 points, scoring at least 30 points for the fourth time in the series. However, his production was not enough as the Thunder ran out of steam late, handing the victory to Denver. Gilgeous-Alexander appeared to injure his hand early in the game but it didn't slow him down on the offensive end. The two teams will meet one more time with everything on the line, with Gilgeous-Alexander likely to be leading the charge for Oklahoma City.
-
Jalen Williams OKC SF
Thunder's Jalen Williams: Struggles with shot in loss
5h agoWilliams posted six points (3-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt), seven rebounds, 10 assists, one block and three steals in 38 minutes during Thursday's 119-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Williams struggled to find his rhythm on the offensive end, shooting under 40 percent for the third straight game. Although his scoring came up a little short of the mark, he added a season-high 10 assists to go with four defensive stats. With the series now headed for Game 7, it's going to be all hands on deck for Oklahoma City as it looks to avoid elimination.

Alex Iafallo WPG LW
Jets' Alex Iafallo: Dishes power-play assist
6h agoIafallo logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
The helper was Iafallo's first point since the playoff opener April 19 versus the Blues. The 31-year-old winger has seen the occasional promotion to a top-six role, but he most frequently works on the fourth line, which explains his limited offense. He's at two points, 16 shots on net, 42 hits, eight blocked shots, 10 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 12 playoff games.
-
Cole Perfetti WPG C
Jets' Cole Perfetti: Notches helper in win
6h agoPerfetti registered a shorthanded assist, four shots on goal, six hits and two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
Perfetti had been held off the scoresheet in the first four games of the second round. The 23-year-old is still in a second-line role, but he's been under 15 minutes of ice time in four of five games versus the Stars in this series. The winger has contributed six points, 27 shots on net, 29 hits and a minus-3 rating across 12 playoff outings.
-
Neal Pionk WPG D
Jets' Neal Pionk: Generates two helpers in win
6h agoPionk logged two assists (one on the power play), six hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
Pionk got on the scoresheet for the first time in the second round in this contest. He helped out on Mark Scheifele's opening tally in the second period and Vladislav Namestnikov's power-play goal in the third. Pionk is up to seven points, 23 shots on net, 42 hits, 16 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 12 playoff contests. He continues to see top-four minutes and will play a big role defensively if the Jets are able to pull off a comeback against the Stars, who lead the series 3-2 after Game 5.
-
Kyle Connor WPG LW
Jets' Kyle Connor: Supplies pair of assists
6h agoConnor logged two assists, including one on the power play, and three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
Connor set up the Jets' first two goals, scored by Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers. With four points over his last three games, Connor is back in form after struggling early in the second round. The winger is at five goals, 11 helpers, 41 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-3 rating across 12 playoff outings in his usual roles on the first line and top power-play unit.
-
Vladislav Namestnikov WPG C
Jets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Earns pair of points
6h agoNamestnikov scored a power-play goal on three shots, dished a shorthanded assist, logged three hits and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
Namestnikov was involved in the Jets' last two goals of the game to help them stay in the playoffs for one more contest. These were his first points in the second round. The 32-year-old center is at three goals, three helpers, 14 shots on net, 29 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 12 playoff outings. Since Mark Scheifele returned from an upper-body injury at the start of the second round, Namestnikov has been back in his usual middle-six role.
-
Mark Scheifele WPG C
Jets' Mark Scheifele: One of each in win
6h agoScheifele scored a goal on three shots, added a power-play assist and logged two PIM in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 5.
Scheifele's tally at 6:17 of the second period stood as the game-winner in the shutout. He also helped out on Nikolaj Ehlers' goal early in the third. Scheifele has two goals and two assists over five games in the second round. The center is at four goals, 10 points, 21 shots on net, 12 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 10 appearances this postseason.
