Chris Collins LAC LB
Chris Collins: Cut by Bolts
2h agoThe Chargers waived Collins on Friday.
The undrafted linebacker from Minnesota missed the Chargers' entire 2024 campaign due to an undisclosed injury, but being waived without an injury designation Friday suggests he's since moved past the issue. Now a free agent, Collins will likely look to catch on with a team in need of special-teams help.

Andre Dillard GB OT
49ers' Andre Dillard: Links up with 49ers
2h agoThe 49ers signed Dillard (concussion) on Friday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Dillard was unable to suit up for the Packers' NFC wild-card loss to the Eagles due to a concussion, but his signing with the 49ers on Friday suggests he's since moved past the issue. Now in San Francisco, Dillard is expected to compete for a depth spot on the team's offensive line throughout the summer.

Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson SF CB
Tre Tomlinson: Out in San Francisco
2h agoTomlinson (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation Friday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Tomlinson was picked up by the 49ers in early March after being dropped by the Rams, but it now appears the team has decided to move in another direction. The LSU product missed the entire 2024 season due to this undisclosed injury, and it's unclear when he'll be able to return to the field. Once he proves he's healthy again, Tomlinson could find a role on a team in need of special-teams help.
-
Drake Jackson SF DE
Drake Jackson: Dropped by San Francisco
3h agoJackson (knee) was waived with a failed physical designation Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 2022 second-round pick from USC is still rehabbing from the knee injury that caused him to miss the final 12 games of 2023 (including the playoffs) and all of 2024. Jackson has appeared in just 23 regular-season contests since being drafted, recording 21 total tackles, including 6.0 sacks, and nine passes defended across 490 defensive snaps. Once he proves he's past this knee injury, Jackson could offer defensive-line depth to a team in need of edge rushers.
-
Zaire Franklin IND OLB
Colts' Zaire Franklin: Undergoes ankle surgery
3h agoHead coach Shane Steichen told reporters Friday that Franklin (ankle) had a clean-up procedure last week, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
The Syracuse product has popped up with an ankle injury and will likely remain out until training camp, per Bowen. Franklin has emerged as one of the NFL's top insider linebackers over the past three seasons, recording a whopping 519 total tackles across his last 50 regular-season contests. While Franklin is sidelined over the next couple of months, expect Liam Anderson to work with Indianapolis' first-team defense.
-
Benjamin Morrison TB CB
Buccaneers' Benjamin Morrison: Back at practice
3h agoHead coach Todd Bowles told reporters that it was a great sign to see Morrison moving around at practice Friday following his hip surgery last season, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Smith also noted that the Buccaneers already believed Morrison would be ready for training camp, so any participation in OTAs would be a bonus. The Notre Dame product was considered one of the best corners in the 2025 NFL Draft but fell to the second round due to injury concerns. He started all 31 games he played over his three years in college, recording 18 passes defended, including nine interceptions. Now nearing full health again, Morrison is expected to compete for one of Tampa Bay's top outside cornerback spots this summer.

Michael Stefanic TOR 2B
Blue Jays' Michael Stefanic: Called up to majors
3m agoThe Blue Jays selected Stefanic's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
The move corresponds with the Blue Jays placing Andres Gimenez (quadriceps) on the 10-day injured list. Stefanic signed a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays in November after appearing in 40 games for the Angels in 2024, posting a ..556 OPS with eight RBI over 124 plate appearances. He's been more productive in the minors this season, slashing .319/.454/.372 with four stolen bases, seven runs scored and 13 RBI in 119 plate appearances. With Gimenez on the shelf, Stefanic should see some playing time at second base on days when Ernie Clement shifts to third.
-
Alejandro Kirk TOR C
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Idle Friday
7m agoKirk isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.
An 0-for-4 performance against the Angels on Thursday put an end to Kirk's six-game hitting streak, and he'll now get a chance to rest Friday while Tyler Heineman catches for Kevin Gausman.
-
Ryan Weathers MIA SP
Marlins' Ryan Weathers: Will start Wednesday for Miami
23m agoWeathers (forearm) is expected to start Wednesday's game against the Cubs, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
It will be Weathers' 2025 debut after suffering a strained forearm during spring training. He's made three rehab starts while on the 15-day injured list, registering a 1.69 ERA and 13:4 K:BB across 10.2 innings of work. Weathers threw just 57 pitches in his latest rehab start, so it's likely he won't be fully stretched out Wednesday.
-
Sean Manaea NYM SP
Mets' Sean Manaea: Nearing mound work
25m agoManaea (oblique) played catch from 120 feet Friday and is soon expected to start throwing off a mound, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.
The left-hander restarted his throwing program in mid-April after receiving a PRP injection to address lingering problems with his strained right oblique, and he's now starting to ramp up in his progression. Manaea will still require a considerable buildup period and a lengthy rehab assignment, but it seems like he could make his season debut before the end of June.
-
Paul Blackburn NYM SP
Mets' Paul Blackburn: Next rehab start set
30m agoBlackburn (knee) will continue his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Syracuse, Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record reports.
Blackburn was scratched from his second rehab start in late April due to an illness, but he's since made two appearances in the minors. The right-hander allowed a run on three hits with a 5:1 K:BB over 3.2 frames in his last outing with Syracuse, and he'll continue building up his workload Sunday. Blackburn was unable to earn a rotation spot during spring training and was poised to begin the campaign in a relief role before the knee inflammation surfaced, so a spot in the bullpen likely awaits once he's cleared to be reinstated.
-
Tommy Pham PIT LF
Pirates' Tommy Pham: Scratched on Friday
31m agoPham was a late scratch from Friday's lineup against Atlanta.
Alexander Canario replaces Pham in left field and will bat eighth. Pham has had an atrocious start to the 2025 season, slashing .183/.259/.221 with just four extra-base hits, six RBI, nine runs scored and a 10:33 BB:K across 116 plate appearances.
-
Sam Hauser BOS SF
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Unlikely to play Saturday
2h agoHauser (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game versus the Knicks.
Hauser is in danger of missing his second straight contest Saturday due to a right ankle sprain he suffered in Game 1. If Hauser is ultimately downgraded to out yet again, the Celtics' typical starters will likely continue to play extended minutes.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Struggles offensively in win
3h agoGobert ended Thursday's 117-93 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals with five points (2-4 FG, 1-4 FT) and nine rebounds in 27 minutes.
After coming one point shy of a double-double in Game 1, Gobert couldn't get it going offensively in Game 2, as he was the lowest-scoring starter for Minnesota on Thursday. The veteran big man is averaging 7.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in this second-round series, shooting 54.5 percent from the field.
-
Trayce Jackson-Davis GS C
Warriors' Trayce Jackson-Davis: Sees increased playing time
3h agoJackson-Davis logged 15 points (6-6 FG, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 19 minutes during Thursday's 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out, the Warriors opted to roll with a larger lineup in Game 2. However, Jackson-Davis received the majority of the playing time over Quinten Post and Kevon Looney. Jackson-Davis could continue to receive an increased role due to Curry being expected to miss a few more games.
-
Jaden McDaniels MIN SF
Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Defensive force in Game 2 win
3h agoMcDaniels closed Thursday's 117-93 victory over Golden State in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 16 points (7-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, three blocks and three steals over 33 minutes.
McDaniels got the job done defensively Thursday, recording game-high numbers in blocks (3) and steals (3). The defensive-minded forward is averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in this series while shooting 59.1 percent from the field.
-
Jonathan Kuminga GS PF
Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Provides spark off bench
3h agoKuminga recorded 18 points (8-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes during Thursday's 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out, Kuminga led Golden State in scoring despite coming off the bench in Game 2. With Curry set to miss a few more games due to injury, Kuminga and the Warriors' other role players will likely be relied upon to continue shouldering an increased offensive load.
-
Brandin Podziemski GS SG
Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Fills up stat sheet in loss
3h agoPodziemski logged 11 points (4-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Thursday's 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
With Stephen Curry (hamstring) sidelined, Podziemski was one of five Warriors who scored in double figures Thursday. It was the first time the young guard cracked double digits in the scoring column since Game 6 against the Rockets. The Santa Clara product is averaging 7.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in this second-round series, shooting 31.3 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent from deep. Curry is expected to miss at least two more games.
-
Joseph Woll TOR G
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Expected to start Friday
2h agoWoll is slated to start on the road against Florida in Game 3 on Friday.
Woll is 2-0 with a 4.01 GAA and an .875 save percentage across two playoff appearances this year. The Maple Leafs have turned to him because Anthony Stolarz is unavailable due to an upper-body injury. Florida ranks fourth in the postseason with 3.71 goals per game.
-
Thomas Bordeleau SJ C
Sharks' Thomas Bordeleau: Dealing with concussion
3h agoBordeleau revealed that his previously undisclosed injury is a concussion, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports Friday.
Bordeleau made his NHL season debut April 13, but then missed the Sharks' final two games due to the injury. Although he was listed as day-to-day at the time, Bordeleau admitted he wasn't actually close to returning. Still, the 23-year-old is making progress, so perhaps he'll be okay for training camp. He had 14 goals and 38 points in 59 regular-season outings with AHL San Jose in 2024-25.
-
Jakub Skarek NYI G
Jakub Skarek: Heading to Finland
4h agoSkarek signed a contract with HIFK of Finland's Liiga, Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News reports Friday.
Skarek was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after posting a record of 0-1-0 with a 3.95 GAA and an .872 save percentage across two appearances with the Islanders this season. He also had a 3.52 GAA and an .884 save percentage in 22 outings with AHL Bridgeport in 2024-25. The 25-year-old was selected by the Islanders with the No. 72 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, but he's struggled in the AHL, so Skarek will look for better results in Europe.
-
Pavel Dorofeyev LV C
Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Travelling with team
5h agoDorofeyev (undisclosed) will travel with the team to Edmonton ahead of Game 3, according to Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday.
Dorofeyev has missed the last three games of the playoffs and should be considered a game-time decision Saturday in Game 3. Dorofeyev had 35 goals and 17 assists across 82 regular-season appearances and had one goal and one assist in five playoff games before the injury. Look for Dorofeyev to return to the top line, alongside Jack Eichel and Mark Stone, should he be cleared to play against the Oilers.
-
Miro Heiskanen DAL D
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Not playing Friday
5h agoHeiskanen (knee) has been ruled out of Game 2 in Winnipeg on Friday, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.
Heiskanen has been out of action since Jan. 28 when he suffered a knee injury. Heiskanen will miss his 40th straight game. He has been practicing with the Stars and could return as early as Sunday when the Stars return home for Game 3. Heiskanen had five goals and 20 assists across 50 regular-season games in 2024-25.
-
Nicolas Roy LV C
Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Having a hearing for cross-checking
5h agoRoy will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday for cross-checking the Oilers' Trent Frederic on Thursday.
Roy picked up a five-minute major for cross-checking, and a game misconduct in overtime. He will likely serve a suspension for his misdeed. Should Roy receive a suspension for Game 3 in Edmonton on Saturday, look for Alexander Holtz to enter the lineup.
