11h agoFairweather signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent Monday, Tommy Yarrish of the team's official site reports.

Traeshon Holden 2005 WR
Cowboys' Traeshon Holden: Signing with Dallas
11h agoHolden is signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent Monday, Tommy Yarrish of the team's official site reports.
Holden will head to Dallas after having hauled in 45 passes for 718 yards and five touchdowns during his final season at Oregon. He will look to carve out a role for himself in the team's crowded receiver room that lacks proven talent behind CeeDee Lamb.

Alex Wright CLE DE
Browns' Alex Wright: Medically cleared to play
11h agoWright (triceps) has been medically cleared to play, Scott Petrak of the BrownsZone reports.
Wright is now healthy again after suffering a torn triceps last October, which forced him to miss the final 13 games of the regular season. He will likely spend the remainder of the offseason competing for a roster spot and can add value as both a depth defender and as a special teamer.

Charles Cross SEA OT
Seahawks' Charles Cross: Fifth-year option picked up
11h agoThe Seahawks exercised Cross' fifth-year option Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Cross will now be tied to Seattle through the 2026 campaign after having been selected ninth overall by the team in the 2022 Draft. He has only missed three games across his first three seasons and should serve as the teams starting left tackle once again during the upcoming campaign.

Zayne Anderson GB SAF
Packers' Zayne Anderson: Returning to Green Bay
11h agoAnderson signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender with the Packers on Monday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports.
Anderson is set to return to Green Bay where he racked up 16 tackles (13 solo) and an interception in 16 games during the 2024 campaign. The 28-year-old will likely serve as one of team's top backup safety options behind Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams and can contribute on special teams as well.

Chris Rumph II NO DE
Saints' Chris Rumph: Signs with Saints
12h agoRumph is signed with the Saints on Monday, John Hendrix of AthlonSports.com reports.
Rumph has seemingly recovered from the foot injury that landed him on the Chargers' injured reserved last August which caused him to miss the entirety of the 2024 campaign. He will spend the offseason competing for a roster spot and can add value on both defense and special teams.
-
Carlos Santana CLE 1B
Guardians' Carlos Santana: Logs two hits in loss
8m agoSantana went 2-for-3 in Monday's 11-1 loss to Minnesota.
Santana snapped a hitless run during Sunday's contest and followed up Monday with his first multi-hit effort in 10 games. He's batting .220 with a .598 OPS through 114 plate appearances.
-
Jake Junis CLE RP
Guardians' Jakob Junis: Avoids injury
11m agoJunis allowed one hit and struck out one over two scoreless innings in Monday's 11-1 loss to the Twins.
Junis, who entered after starter Gavin Williams lasted just two innings, took a comebacker off his left quad in the third inning. He was down for a brief time while trainers assessed the right-hander and was deemed fit to continue. He got out of that inning and set down the side in order in the fourth. Junis has been a useful arm out of the bullpen, posting a 1.93 ERA with just one walk over 14 innings.

Jeimer Candelario CIN 3B
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Getting benched
26m agoCincinnati manager Terry Francona spoke to Candelario on Monday about a reduced role due to an early-season slump, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. "We tried to explain to him, too, that you can't chase hits. That's a hard way to play," Francona said.
This move was a long time coming and forecasted over the last week. Candelario, who is batting .113 with a .411 OPS over 22 games, managed to avoid being benched earlier while the Reds navigated injuries. Now that the roster is in better shape -- Spencer Steer is back playing the field following a bout of shoulder inflammation, Noelvi Marte his ripping it up since his call-up, and Gavin Lux no longer needs to cover left field since Austin Hays was activated of the injured list -- Candelario will have to take advantage opportunities when presented to him to climb back into a rotation at first base, third base or DH.

Matt McLain CIN 2B
Reds' Matt McLain: Snaps hitless run
40m agoMcLain went 1-for-4 and stole a base in Monday's 3-1 win over the Cardinals.
McLain's seventh-inning single was his first hit in a week. It ended an 0-for-21 stretched that dropped his average to .157. He's had bad luck early on, as McLain is in the top tier in barrel (18.6 percent, 94th percentile) and hard-hit (53.5, 90th) rates through 20 games. Over time, results begin to correct, which suggests McLain is due for a productive stretch.

Dane Myers MIA CF
Marlins' Dane Myers: Slugs pinch-hit grand slam
6h agoMyers went 2-for-2 with a grand slam in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.
Myers began the game on the bench for the second straight day, but that didn't prevent him from making a big impact. He pinch hit for Matt Mervis in the sixth inning and tied the game with one swing of the bat, launching a 405-foot grand slam to center field. Myers added a single in his other trip to the plate, giving him his first two-hit performance since April 20. He entered Monday having gone 1-for-10 with five strikeouts over his previous four games.

Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Reaches four times, swipes bag
6h agoOhtani went 1-for-2 with a run, three walks and a stolen base in a 7-6 extra-inning victory versus Miami on Monday.
The Marlins largely pitched around Ohtani in the contest, putting him on base via walk three times. The superstar slugger was able to make the most of his lone hit by following his first-inning single with a steal of second base before coming around to score on a Freddie Freeman base knock. Ohtani hasn't homered in his past seven contests, but he's picked up a pair of thefts in that span while going 8-for-27 (.296 batting average) at the plate.

Buddy Hield GS SF
Warriors' Buddy Hield: Hits for 15 in Monday's start
1h agoHield accumulated 15 points (6-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Monday's 109-106 win over the Rockets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Making his first start since Feb. 12, Hield played at least 30 minutes for the first time since Match 3 and supplied solid secondary scoring. The veteran wing dropped five threes and 17 points off the bench in a Game 3 win, and he appears to have moved ahead of the struggling Moses Moody in the Warriors' rotation heading into Game 5 on Wednesday.
-
Stephen Curry GS PG
Warriors' Stephen Curry: Takes back seat Monday
1h agoCurry contributed 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Monday's 109-106 victory over the Rockets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
With Jimmy Butler back in the lineup Monday, Curry was content to let someone else take on the scoring load. It's the first time this postseason the veteran guard has scored fewer than 20 points or drained fewer than four three-pointers, but he's still averaging 26.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.3 boards, 4.0 threes, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks through four games. Curry is more than capable of flipping the switch in Game 5 on Wednesday as the Warriors look to punch their tickets to the second round.
-
Brandin Podziemski GS SG
Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Pops for 26 in Game 4 win
1h agoPodziemski recorded 26 points (9-18 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 40 minutes during Monday's 109-106 win over the Rockets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Jimmy Butler led the Warriors in scoring with 27 points, but Podziemski nearly matched him in the best performance of his brief playoff career. The second-year guard failed to score a point at all over 14 minutes in Game 2 however, so Monday's effort, while impressive, isn't necessarily a sign of better things to come. Podziemski will try to stay productive in Game 5 on Wednesday as the Warriors look to advance to the second round.

Jimmy Butler GS SF
Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Leads Dubs to win in return
1h agoButler logged 27 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 12-12 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one block across 40 minutes during Monday's 109-106 victory over the Rockets in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
After missing most of Game 2 and sitting out Game 3 due to a pelvic contusion, Butler demonstrated that he was healthy by leading the Warriors in scoring in his return while also tying Brandin Podziemski for the team lead in court time. Playoff Jimmy was in full effect down the stretch in the fourth quarter, as he scored Golden State's last seven points while also grabbing a key rebound with four seconds left. Butler has scored at least 25 points in each of his two full games this postseason, and he's likely to come up big again Wednesday in Game 5 as the Warriors try to punch their tickets to the second round.

Amen Thompson HOU PG
Rockets' Amen Thompson: Just misses double-double in loss
2h agoThompson finished with 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Monday's 109-106 loss to the Warriors in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
After three lackluster scoring efforts to begin his first career playoff run, Thompson stepped up his production Monday. The second-year wing is averaging 11.8 points, 6.5 boards, 3.8 assists and 1.3 combined steals and blocks through four games, and the Rockets may need something special from the fourth overall pick in the 2023 Draft if they're going to avoid elimination in Game 5 on Wednesday.
-
Fred VanVleet HOU PG
Rockets' Fred VanVleet: Drains eight treys Monday
2h agoVanVleet produced 25 points (8-13 FG, 8-12 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and six assists over 40 minutes during Monday's 109-106 loss to the Warriors in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
It was a huge night from beyond the arc for the veteran point guard, but VanVleet needed one more three -- his shot for a tie at the final buzzer came up just short. It was his best scoring performance of the playoffs so far, and through four games he's averaging 14.8 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 threes, 3.3 boards and 1.3 steals while playing at least 40 minutes each contest. VanVleet will try to help the Rockets stave off elimination on their home court in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Filip Hallander PIT C
Penguins' Filip Hallander: Leaving SHL club
7h agoHallander signed a two-year, $1.55 million contract with the Penguins on Monday, per PuckPedia.
Hallander's one-way contract will begin next season. The 2018 second-round selection accumulated 26 goals and 53 points over 51 regular-season games with Timra of the Swedish Hockey League in 2024-25. Hallander has only three games of NHL experience, but he has a good chance at earning a spot on the Penguins' Opening Night roster in 2025-26.

Brandon Hagel TB LW
Lightning's Brandon Hagel: Injured in Game 4
10h agoHagel (upper body) departed Monday's 4-2 loss to the Panthers in the second period of Game 4 and did not return.
Hagel, who was suspended for Game 3, was forced out of Monday's loss after being on the receiving end of a high hit from Aaron Ekblad, though the play went unpenalized. Hagel's head hit the ice on the way down, so he'll presumably be fully evaluated for a concussion Tuesday. Head coach Jon Cooper provided no information regarding Hagel's status after the contest, which leaves the 26-year-old winger with a day-to-day label ahead of Game 5 in Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
-
Andrei Vasilevskiy TB G
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Tending twine in Sunrise
14h agoVasilevskiy will be between the road pipes in Game 4 against the Panthers on Monday, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.
As if there was any doubt, Vasilevskiy will be tasked with attempting to send the series back to Tampa Bay tied at 2-2. The Russian netminder's workload has increased in each game of this series, and after conceding six goals on 17 shots in Game 1, Vasilevskiy has turned aside 54 of 56 shots (.964 save percentage) over the last two matchups. The Lightning will receive a boost Monday in the form of Brandon Hagel, who was suspended for Saturday's Game 3 win.

Matthew Coronato CGY RW
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Withdrawn from Worlds
16h agoCoronato underwent an MRI that revealed an undisclosed injury, resulting in him being pulled from the Team USA roster Monday for the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
The Flames didn't offer any specifics regarding the nature or severity of Coronato's injury, though they did call it a "preventative decision." In his first full NHL campaign, the 22-year-old winger notched 24 goals and 23 helpers in 77 regular-season games this year. Barring a long-term injury, Coronato should be capable of building on that production heading into the 2025-26 campaign.

Gabriel Vilardi WPG C
Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Poised to return Wednesday
18h agoVilardi (upper body) is expected to be back in the lineup for Game 5 versus the Blues on Wednesday, John Lu of TSN reports.
Vilardi has been out since March 23 versus the Sabres, a stretch of 15 games on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. The 25-year-old Ontario native should be in the mix for a top-six role, which will likely drop Alex Iafallo down the lineup.

Corey Schueneman STL D
Blues' Corey Schueneman: Summoned from AHL
18h agoSchueneman was recalled from AHL Springfield on Monday.
Schueneman appeared in four regular-season games with the Blues in 2024-25, recording four shots on goal, seven blocked shots and one hit. He had four goals and 20 points in 63 AHL outings during the 2024-25 regular season before adding one goal in three playoff games. Schueneman likely won't see playing time in the NHL playoffs, barring multiple injuries.
