Elijah Arroyo SEA TE
Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Past knee issue
8h agoArroyo said Friday that he is no longer dealing with the knee injury that limited him leading up to the NFL Draft, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
The knee issue prevented Arroyo from running the 40 at either the NFL Combine or his pro day, though Seattle was able to estimate him at 4.52/4.53 based on his GPS speeds. The injury didn't deter the Seahawks from drafting the big tight end out of Miami in the second round (50th overall), however, making him the fifth tight end off the board. Arroyo has a chance to carve out a significant role in the team's offense, especially if he can have a big training camp -- while Noah Fant tallied a respectable 500 receiving yards on 48 catches during the regular season last year, he has only one touchdown reception over the past two campaigns.

Ross Dwelley SF TE
49ers' Ross Dwelley: Back to SF on one-year pact
12h agoDwelley signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Friday.
Dwelley spent his first six NFL seasons in San Francisco before playing for the Falcons in 2024. Back in the Bay Area, the 30-year-old Dwelley will compete for a roster spot with the 49ers in 2025. He has just 17 receiving yards in 29 regular-season appearances over the past two seasons, so Dwelley doesn't project to factor into the passing game much, even if he makes the team.

Jerome Ford CLE RB
Browns' Jerome Ford: Accepts pay cut
12h agoFord (ankle) agreed to terms Friday on a salary reduction from $3.49 million to a guaranteed $1.75 million for the 2025 season, Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com reports.
Ford's salary reduction follows the Browns' selection of second-round running back Quinshon Judkins at No. 33 overall in April's draft, in addition to running back Dylan Sampson in the fourth round. Per Kabot, had Ford not agreed to a pay cut he would have been a trade candidate, and Cleveland may have re-signed free agent Nick Chubb (foot). With Ford's spot on the roster now essentially guaranteed, the door appears closed for Chubb to reunite with the Browns, barring damage to the team's depth. Zac Jackson and Lauren Smith of The Athletic report that Ford currently retains his hold on the top spot on the depth chart, but his pay cut is a clear indication the role will be up for grabs if Judkins logs a more impressive offseason.

Christian Watson GB WR
Packers' Christian Watson: Progressing in rehab
13h agoHead coach Matt LaFleur said Friday that Watson (knee) has "been outstanding" in his recovery from the torn right ACL he suffered in early January and is "working hard," Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
LaFleur said Watson's work ethic approaching his ACL rehab has been impressive, per Ryan Wood of USA Today, but the timing of the young wideout's injury sheds serious doubt on his availability for the early portion of the regular season. Green Bay also invested significant draft capital at the wide receiver position in April's draft in the form of first-round pick Matthew Golden and third-rounder Savion Williams. With all of Jayden Reed (shoulder), Romeo Doubs (concussion), Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, Mecole Hardman (knee) and Malik Heath also on hand, the Packers boast one of the league's most crowded receiver rooms, meaning Watson will face tough competition for snaps even if he enjoys an exceptional recovery timeline.

Jihaad Campbell PHI LB
Eagles' Jihaad Campbell: Shoulder still bothersome
13h agoCampbell (shoulder) isn't taking part in rookie minicamp Friday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com reports.
Campbell is still recovering from a torn labrum that he had surgically repaired in March. The Eagles have more than enough talent on defense to bring the rookie first-round pick along slowly, though Campbell's expected to recover from his injury in time for training camp.

Zion Johnson LAC OG
Chargers' Zion Johnson: Fifth-year option declined by Bolts
1d agoJohnson had his fifth-year option declined by the Chargers on Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
The offensive guard has started all 51 games he's played in across three pro seasons. A 2022 first-round pick, Johnson should be in line to start again in 2025, as Los Angeles' only major addition to the offensive line in the offseason came in the form of free-agent signing Mekhi Becton. Becton should slide in at right guard with Johnson, with last year's center Bradley Bozeman and tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater filling out the rest of the line, though Johnson might see time at center this year.

Bo Naylor CLE C
Guardians' Bo Naylor: Launches another homer
12m agoNaylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
Naylor tied things up at 2-2 in the fourth inning, when he took Chris Bassitt deep to center field for a 410-foot solo homer. Naylor has struggled at the plate this season and is slashing .192/.277/.425 in 84 plate appearances. However, he has homered in four consecutive starts, which may be an indication that the 25-year-old catcher has settled in at the plate.
-
Carlos Santana CLE 1B
Guardians' Carlos Santana: Launches solo homer Friday
16m agoSantana went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and and RBI single in Friday's 5-3 loss to Toronto.
Santana put the Guardians on the board in the second inning on a solo home run off Chris Bassitt, and the former tied things up at 3-3 in the eighth after his single to right field brought Daniel Schneemann home. Santana is up to three home runs on the season, though his last one was April 9 against the White Sox. He's slashing .229/.306/.330 with two stolen bases, 13 runs scored and nine RBI in 124 plate appearances this season.
-
Logan Taylor Allen CLE SP
Guardians' Logan Allen: No-decision against Toronto
20m agoAllen didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings.
It was a nice bounce-back effort for Allen on Friday after he gave up seven runs to the Red Sox on April 27. He tallied 16 first-pitch strikes and nine whiffs across 104 pitches (66 strikes), and he was one out shy from logging his first quality start of the season. He's yielded two earned runs or less in four of his last five outings and has a 4.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Allen's next start is slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.
-
Jeff Hoffman TOR RP
Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Tallies seventh save
33m agoHoffman logged a save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Guardians, allowing one hit and one walks while striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.
Hoffman was brought in for the ninth inning to preserve a two-run lead, but it wasn't an easy going for the 32-year-old right-hander. He had runners on second and third after yielded a walk and a double, but Hoffman was able to escape unscathed after getting Gabriel Arias to ground out to third base. Hoffman needed 26 pitches (16 strikes) to secure his seventh save of the season, which may impact his availability for Saturday's contest.
-
Chris Bassitt TOR SP
Blue Jays' Chris Bassitt: Gives up three runs in no-decision
39m agoBassitt didn't factor into the decision in Friday's game against the Guardians, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out four over 5.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.
Bassitt gave up solo home runs to Carlos Santana and Bo Naylor in the second and fourth innings, respectively, and Bassitt was tagged for a third run in the sixth before being lifted for Chad Green. Bassitt was able to generate 11 whiffs on 98 pitches (65 strikes) but fell two outs short of logging his third quality start of the season. He's allowed 11 runs over his last three outings and is up to a 2.95 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 39.2 innings. Bassitt is in line to face the Angels on the road next week.

Alejandro Kirk TOR C
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Continues hot streak Friday
1h agoKirk went 3-for-4 with a two-run single in Friday's 5-3 win over Cleveland.
Kirk put the Jays on the board in the third inning on a single to left field that brought Vladimir Guerrero and Anthony Santander home. It was Kirk's ninth multi-hit game of the season, four of which have come over his last six games. Over that span, the 26-year-old backstop has gone 10-for-24 with one home run and six RBI.

Brandin Podziemski GS SG
Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Moving to bench Friday
7h agoPodziemski is not in the starting lineup for Game 6 against the Rockets on Friday, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game San Francisco reports.
The Warriors are shaking things up in the backcourt and Gary Payton will enter the starting lineup, meaning Podziemski will come off the bench. The former Santa Clara standout is averaging 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in five games during the current series.

Gary Payton II GS PG
Warriors' Gary Payton: Starting in Game 6
7h agoPayton is in the starting lineup for Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs against the Rockets on Friday, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game San Francisco reports.
Payton is in the starting lineup since the Warriors will look to add a bit more muscle and toughness on the defensive end. This means Brandin Podziemski will come off the bench and log minutes with the second unit.

Isaiah Stewart DET PF
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Misses final five playoff outings
14h agoStewart (knee) didn't play in the Pistons' final five games of their first-round playoff matchup with the Knicks.
Stewart's right knee inflammation allowed Paul Reed to receive increased playing time before the Pistons were eliminated from playoff contention. Stewart averaged 6.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 19.9 minutes across 72 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. The 23-year-old big man should be healthy coming into the 2025-26 campaign.
-
Jaden Ivey DET SG
Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Ends season on shelf
14h agoIvey (lower leg) didn't play in the Pistons' final 55 games of the 2024-25 season, including the playoffs.
Ivey hasn't played since Jan. 1 due to a broken left fibula, and with Detroit now eliminated from the playoffs, he will have to wait until next season to see any game action. However, the 23-year-old guard had been reportedly progressing in his recovery and was cleared for basketball activities, so he should be healthy ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. Ivey finished the 2024-25 season averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 29.9 minutes across 30 regular-season appearances.

15h agoReed racked up two points (2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist across eight minutes during Thursday's 116-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Despite playing only eight minutes, Reed picked up five fouls during Thursday's season-ending loss to the Knicks. With Isaiah Stewart (knee) missing the final five games of the series, Reed operated as the team's backup center to Jalen Duren. Across the 25-year-old big man's 45 regular-season appearances this season, Reed averaged 4.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 9.7 minutes.
-
Ausar Thompson DET SF
Pistons' Ausar Thompson: Efficient in season-ending loss
15h agoThompson finished Thursday's 116-113 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with 17 points (5-7 FG, 7-10 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three steals over 23 minutes.
Despite ultimately losing in six games, Thompson came alive late in Detroit's first-round playoff matchup with New York, averaging 19.5 points on 76.5 percent shooting from the field across the final two contests. After missing the end of the 2023-24 season and the first 18 games of the 2024-25 campaign due to a blood clotting issue, Thompson was able to play in 59 of the Pistons' final 64 regular-season outings. Over those 59 regular-season appearances, the 22-year-old forward averaged 10.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals in 22.5 minutes, establishing himself as one of the best young defenders in the NBA. Still, Thompson will likely look to improve upon his outside shooting, as he shot just 22.4 percent from three and 64.1 percent from the free-throw line this season.

1h agoAppleton notched a power-play assist and two PIM in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 6.

Jets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Logs power-play assist
1h agoNamestnikov notched a power-play assist and three hits in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 6.
Namestnikov filled in for Mark Scheifele (undisclosed) on the top line in this contest, though the Jets didn't score at even strength. 1h agoMorrissey notched a power-play assist, three shots on goal, three blocked shots, two hits and four PIM in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 6.

The 30-year-old defenseman has three assists, 11 shots on net, 14 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over six playoff contests in his usual top-pairing role.

Perfetti's goal was his first playoff tally in his career. He's added two assists, 14 shots on net, eight hits, three blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over six appearances this postseason. Perfetti remains in a second-line role, though his power-play role should allow the 23-year-old to get more involved on offense.
