The Green Bay Packers have started their search for their next general manager and we now know when the interviews will begin and who will be interviewed.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Packers are expected to start their GM interviews on Thursday. They are also expected to interview in-house candidates Brian Gutekunst, Eliot Wolf and Russ Ball. Schefter also said the Packers are looking to conclude their search next week.

The Packers announced this week they are moving Ted Thompson to senior advisor of football relations after being the general manager for 13 seasons. Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said he'll take recommendations when it comes to the GM search, but he will make the final decision.

Murphy also said whoever is hired as the GM will have total control of the roster and could bring in a new head coach if he sees fit. However, Murphy did say Mike McCarthy is the Packers coach for next season and he signed a one-year extension earlier in the year making him the coach through the 2019 season.
